I am a late-ish mid-40-ish housewife and mother to Four Fine Sons(tm) wh0 range in ages from mid-20′s to early-teens.
I am the wife of a Captain of Industry who smokes fine cigars (subject to approval from me) and makes fine furniture in his spare (ha!) time.
I write about whatever I feel like writing about, and I’ve been doing it for YEARS now.
We live in a big house on a golf course (not nearly as fancy-pants as it sounds) and have 4 dachshunds and 1 Siamese cat. We also have a lawn mower, a dead tree in the back yard, and wisteria overtaking the neighbor’s Cherokee Rose, but he hasn’t noticed.
Once in a while our washing machine leaks, and this has caused a degree of ruination to the floors. We are not, however, that worried about it.
For Fun and Profit, I sew. I work with a friend who makes children’s couture clothing, and do the stuff she despises, like making $65 shorts for 3 year old boys, and putting waistbands on things. I also sew for adults, making tailored women’s clothing and Steampunk outerwear.
And I cook.
We all live in the Deepest of the Deep South, not far from the coast of Georgia, in a region called The Wiregrass. It’s hot here most of the time, unless it’s not, then it’s only warm. They say about Winter here, “Maybe it will come on a Tuesday, and not screw up the weekend.”
My philosophy: Expect the worst, then when it happens you are prepared for it, and if it doesn’t you are pleasantly surprised.
