So, we’ve got this bathroom project going on. Usually with projects like these, Sweet Daddio supervises and I do what he says, because he knows how to do just about everything and I don’t. Until now. (smug little smile) Oh, don’t get me wrong, he still knows how to do pretty much everything, but I am finding that I’m knowing more than I thought.
Yes indeed. I refinished the bathtub. I did it. Without his help, I found instructions how, and the stuff needed, and I did it and it looks like a new tub, all shiny white and not a bit of penicillin green anywhere.
Then, I painted the walls- ok, no big deal there, I’ve always done the painting.
Then I laid the tile flooring. Yes indeed. And it looks good, too. I am grateful the bathroom is small, a mere 6×6 floor, but I did it nonetheless. Cut the bits around the molding and toilet hole and everything. And it looks good, too.
Then, SD asked me to go to Lowe’s and get the hoses for the sink and toilet, plus a certain type of wax ring (have you ever looked at one of those nasty things? They look like they’re made from earwax.) And guess what- I knew just what to get and I am feeling very proud of myself because of it. Yes I am.
The bathroom is about 75% done now. Once the toilet, sink and mirror are up, all that is lacking is the cabinetry behind the door. We haven’t quite settled on how to do that one yet, but it will probably include a bit of countertop, maybe another mirror, and a light, sort of an auxillary work area.
Photos forthcoming, when stuff is in place.
I guess now I need to learn how to cut molding, angles and stuff. Then I could put in the baseboard and all.
Because I can
