Today’s List

Filed under: Good grief, I see old people, church, family, home and hearth

I work off lists. I like it, as it gives me a feeling of accomplishment when I cross something off. I am meticulous about them, listing items in order of importance, so when I get halfway through and poop out, I don’t notice that I forgot to do the most important thing, and suffer remorse.

This is todays list. Bear in mind I’ve been gone for a week and Shi…er…stuff…tends to pile up when I’m not around. No reflection onf the people who stayed here, it’s just the way it is. No one does things like I do them and when I get back from a trip there’s just so much shi…er…stuff that must be done. My list is in 2 sections. The first is stuff to do today and tomorrow. The second is stuff to get done this week.

Monday/Tuesday
Empty suitcases
laundry (6+ loads)
clean out fridge (gaaahhhh…..)
buy groceries
sweep and mop gameroom (it has a funky odor)
upstairs & stairs (they’re mysteriously sticky)
downstairs (also sticky, but not mysteriously)
clean bathrooms (ugh…I mean really, really ugh)
clean up guestroom and red up for company in 2 weeks

Go to Willow Pond

I ought to put Willow Pond on the top of the list, it is affirming and restorative to go there. Plus, Mr. W is dying and I don’t want to go there and discover he left without me. Mr F promised Lily a peppermint candy whenever she comes, and Mrs. B is the same age as my grandmother and I like swapping soup recipes with her.

It’s gonna be a busy week, but I seem to do better when there’s too much to do. I promised JerseyChick I’d handle the crafts for her VBS, and I am TOTALLY looking forward to that! What’s fun is having an itty bitty budget, and coming up with worthwhile and (somewhat) meaningful doohickey’s for the kids to make, using free and donated goods. It’s a challenge and I LOVE IT!

Now that everyone has left for school, it’s time to get started on my list. Wish me luck!

I am secretly getting area restaurants and coffeshops to donate muffins and sweet tea during VBS Week so my 2 dozen workers can have a lovely surprise breakfast each morning.

So far, it’s my favorite part of the VBS thing. I’m looking forward to your crafts putting breakfast in the dust!

I’m tired just reading about all that mopping! (I’d rather go for a 15km walk!!!)

I’m a listmaker as well. I never feel as if I’ve accomplished anything unless I see it on paper. LOL
